  Traditional Italian food in a traditionally decorated setting. The flavour was lovely, meaty & slow cooked delicious. Friendly service. Very good value - we had happy hour wines ($6 each until 7pm) & each had pasta ($19). There's a gluten free pasta available. We both enjoyed our meals & my dining partner said the bread served was delicious (t looked & smelled great - no GF bread served though so I just had to watch & drool!).

  Service was great they were prompt and kind with out being pushy. The catch of the day (Swordfish) was cooked perfectly and the vegetables were beautiful and el denté. We had the early dinning special (regular menu set price with soup or salad) which fit our time constraints and the food blew us away. Great food, service, and a cool tucked away location. I will definitely return with more friends and family.

  We went to Al Porto as part of Dine Out Vancouver. I've always loved this restaurant. Although it feels like a dungeon or wine cellar when you first go in because you go downstairs below street level, it has a lovely Italian ambiance inside. I've used this facility to host media events in past and really loved their food. The room wasn't loud so it was easy to have a decent conversation without yelling.
  
  We had the 3 course meal for $40 each. It was pretty reasonably priced. Because we arrived early enough, we were able to take advantage of happy hour and enjoyed the half price liquor. I ordered the Salmon entree and my friend ordered the clam linguine. I enjoyed the salmon and risotto dish. It was perfectly cooked but when I had a taste of the clam linguine, it was to die for. The garlic and buttery flavour was really delicious. I wish I had this dish instead.
  
  Appetizer was a good portion. It didn't fill us up. They had a good selection of desserts as well. The entrees were a good portion. I could not finish my meal so I had to pack it up and take home.
  
  The service was excellent. The hostess accommodate our wish to be seated in another location and the server was very attentive. He was always there to refill our glasses and put away empty dishes.
  
  I would go back to have that linguine dish next time.

  Everytime we have dinner here we have a wonderful time. I make a reservation for my Husband's Birthday, and it's always a great experience.The delicious food, and great prices on the before drinks and of course the fantastic tasting wine.Also the staff has always been good to us and very knowledgeable.

  This place was lovely. My friend and I arrived pretty late after the hockey game and they were more than happy to rustle us up some grub. The pizza was really good, as was the wine, and the guy serving us was a real seasoned pro. Would definitely go back again.
