A fantastic french inspired casual fine dining restaurant. Excellent food and professional service. Our meal was absolutely spectacular. I had the roasted half chicken with a seasoned rice pilaf and vegetables and my girlfriend had the tenderloin. They were both so moist, juicy and flavourful. We will absolutely go back here again. I heard the weekend brunch is also fantastic so will be definitely trying that next. Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

I was very happy with La Brass. My wife and I went over the holidays. The restaurant itself was cozy and warm. The menu is divided between a classic French/continental menu and tapas. The food was excellent. I thought the steak tartare was amongst the best I've ever had. The escargot were wonderful and a number of the tapas were delicious. I ordered the lamb entree and it was perfectly cooked. Prices are more than reasonable. This restaurant is a wonderful combination of comfortable, familiar French food and stellar execution. Looking forward to going back next time I'm in town!

I had the strip loin special which came with roasted fingerling potatoes, carrot/root veg, and a few fiddleheads. The steak was topped with a tasty herb butter, and the sauce was very nice. Veg was cooked properly. But the steak was very thin and I found that disappointing (less than 1/2 inch. I know strip loin isn't usually super thick and is long, but it felt weak). However, the steak was not overcooked. And the portion of veg and potatoes was fairly small. I think even having more of the potatoes would have helped. I was having a quick dinner, so I didn't have a starter, and none of the desserts really appealed to me (and sounded quite simple, without multiple components. They had a dulce de leche creme brûlée, a mixed berry clafoutis - had it been cherry, I might have tried it, trio of sorbet, and the special was a dessert terrine), so I know that I would have been more satisfied had I ordered more courses, but the main definitely didn't fill me up which felt a bit odd when it was $36. Service was nice and friendly enough (tiny things made it not perfect considering this price point - waited for cutlery after dish was served because I was outside, and the person who seated me didn't set the table, had to ask for napkin when given cutlery, not offered a water refill at the end, but timing was good). They have a little patio, which is nice. Cava and cappucino were very good. They have intriguing tapas dishes, so maybe that's the way to go. I was thinking of getting steak frites before I heard the special, so I bet the fries would have felt substantial if they were well done. It's a nice place, and the food was very tasty and well-prepared, but in the end it didn't feel like a good value to me. Prices seem slightly higher in some cases than the older menu on their website. I think I'd choose the not so far away Bistro Pastis over it (though I haven't been since the owner sold it). I'd still give it one more shot though.
