  Don't do it. Please. You think: I am a poor university student, I want a cheap meal. I am going to also add the $1 Bubble Tea.
  
  It's not worth the pain your stomach will suffer haven eating a borderline toxic meal, bathed in oil, made with who knows what ingredients. If you absolutely must eat in the village, try out Petra for something atleast made to order.

  You get what you pay for pretty much. If you enjoy deep fried, overly sugary Chinese food, then you'll like the place. Usually it's a bit of a hit and miss in terms of which of their sides are good that day.
  Pro Tip: 3-4 PM, their rice + 2 sides combo is $3.99, and usually during summer too.

  My go to place for cheap, quick, filling, Cantonese-style food at UBC. You know the drill, you pick rice or noodles, then choose 2-3 items from the 15 or so meat and vegetable dishes in the warming trays. This is the most popular place in the underground food court, so food is usually quite fresh because turnover is high. I like the eggplant and the green beans. Meat dishes are all fairly similar, think deep fried, goopy, and sugary, but tasty.
