Beware: 4 adults 2 toddlers. The bill came with an included 18% tip because we are a "large party". Yes. It's one of Those restaurants. Our kids just sat quietly and ate the whole time. The waitress came by may be twice? Food was just ok.

Great selection of pasta and pizzas. Old school Italian feel in the main building. There's a heated semi-indoor seating area in the back of the building as well. I really enjoyed the Genoa pizza and the gnocchi. Friendly service.

Great menu items, especially for lunch items at special lower prices. The pasta with prosciutto was really good! I definitely intend to bring friends there with me next time

Food - Great. Good quality and fresh produce. We had the gnocchi pesto pasta and the spicy shrimp pasta (insert fancy name here). The pastas were handmade, not too heavy and very fresh. The pesto sauce tasted freshly made and the shrimps were cooked perfectly. The spicy shrimp pasta was spiced well whereas the gnocchi pesto pasta was a little underwhelming in terms of seasoning. The soup was good as an appetizer but nothing spectacular. I also got 1 meatball which was good but again nothing spectacular.

Aesthetic - Vibrant/Hip. Tucked in the back is a patio. Along the storefront side, the atmosphere is classy and not cluttered. You get a view of the prep work by kitchen staff too. It feels genuine.

Service - consistent with Randy Smith's review, I was not very impressed with the service. It looked like there was 1 waitress for the front of shop and 1 who covered the back end. We ended up sitting in the front section ; however, it took several minutes to be seated. The waitress needed to clear and clean the table before seating us. The problem is that with the open concept store front, if 2-3 staff members are seen speaking to 1 patron and no one comes to speak to new patrons for the first 30 seconds of entering the store, there's an awkward 'standing in the front of the store' moment that sets the tone of the experience. Furthermore, another table's patrons tried to speak to the kitchen staff to get their cheque because the waitress had not come back to them.

TLDR; Good food, hip/vibrant atmosphere. Needs some work on the service.

I was pretty disappointed with the service. I really do feel for someone who puts their heart, soul and undoubtedly a lot of money into a restaurant in Vancouver just to have it wasted by unpleasant staff.

We were two of the only four patrons at the time, and after being seated our waitress left to find some change for her float. We sat there for a while and watched her go up and down the street while the other two or three staff just ignored us. After a few more minutes of awkward stares one of them came over to the table and said, 'What do you want?'

No matter how great the food, how aesthetically beautiful the restaurant, if the staff is disinterested or rude it sets the whole experience off on a bad note. I just wanted to eat and get out of there.

The food was of good quality, well presented and the place appeared clean and nicely decorated. However, there's lots of bistros in Vancouver doing the same thing. I'd pass on it.
