Amazing service! Every time I am greeted with a smile and the staff always have great recommendations. I have not tried something that I have not enjoyed!

Wonderful gluten-free bakery. Lots of vegan options as well. So tasty!

Little nervous about buying gluten free products from a non true dedicated bakery. My choice of non gluten diet is a choice of being sick or not. And not a trend style.Just an update I have been in your bakery several times when I was first diagnosed with being a Celiac..And your products are very tasty..But since as you know the more you go with out Gluten the easier it is to get sick from eating just a slight bit..I have been to your other competitors who tolerate a zero policy of bring gluten into their Gluten Free Bakery, and there is a difference..Good treats but like I said before for someone who thinks it is trendy to be GF>>

I have enjoyed East village bakery for about 3? years now and am just such a fan of the quality, thought, and creativity behind their baked goods. I always say to people, " Any of these baked goods (at East Village Bakery) would win 1st prize at a country fair, along side any traditional and wheat based baked goods". These are "gluten free" products that you would "never know" are gluten free - they have really raised the bar on the taste, texture and delight of gluten free and vegan baking. The prices are also a nice surprise, ie very reasonable paired with exceptional quality.

I hate to give East Village Bakery less than 5 stars because the quality of their stuff is usually great and the owner is very kind!
We visit here probably 2-3x a month. Once, we splurged on a raspberry rhubarb pie. I guarantee nobody tasted the filling or did a test batch before selling to customers. It tasted like they didn't sweeten the filling at all. I think the pie cost around $20, and most of it went in the trash.
Otherwise, their stuff has been good. Very moist and fluffy for gluten free.
The only thing that could get me to visit more would be if they made more typical items.
The buster bun is not good. I would love if they made a cinnamon bun though.
The apple tarts are okay but apple strudels would be so much better.
Biscuits, cheese sticks, sausage rolls or croissants would be amazing.
With the gluten free industry, people aren't usually looking for unusual items. We don't have a lot of options and miss the old favourites. I hope they will begin to cater to the celiac customers a little more!
