  For a group of 12 people, we had a nice large table, and the food was good. Service was crap though. They never looked in our direction, and we actually got up to give them our order paper once! It took forever to change the grill plates, leaving our raw meat sitting on the table for over half an hour while we tried to make eye contact and flag them down. They didn't deserve the auto-gratuity placed on our bill, but we had no choice but to pay so we could leave. Had we the choice, however, tip would have been zero dollars.

  This location has been a sushi restaurant for a long time and Kyo is the most current (Shabusen before). They offer a la carte, but popular is the All You Can Eat sushi and Korean BBQ combo. The food quality and service is consistent which brings in a steady stream of customers. They have a large dining area which is suitable for large groups; also there are traditional style Japanese booths. This is a second floor venue and it offers nice views of the hustle and bustle of the shops of South Granville Village There is free parking in their very small and busy parking garage via the back lane (larger vehicles may have a harder time accessing any available spots).

  When food is good I sometimes turn a blind eye to mediocre service. I read that the service here was not very good but I have it a try.
  
  I did not find anything wrong with the service at all. They were super busy but cleared plates and brought the food often and replaced our ordering paper 3 times no problem.
  
  We had all you can eat for lunch and it was really good. We usually go to Shabusen but found the quality of food was better here at Kyo, as was the service.

  For $28 (with tax and forced gratuity for groups it comes to $35) you will left disappointed with what you get. The service here is non existent. It takes forever to flag a server down for more tea, water, soy sauce, or to get them to pick up the order sheet.
  
  The food wasn't bad, but it's something you would expect at a 6.99 Sushi Special place. The only redeeming quality was the BBQ meat.
  
  If you're not into eating till you explode I would recommend going to a better Sushi place. Your money could go a lot farther there.

  June 11,2017. We went there at 6pm expecting a great experience. Unfortunately everything went downhill. We have seniors in need of elevator but staff refused to inform us that there is one.
  Service: very bad, unresponsive.
  Food quality: Not fresh, especially seafood.
  Maintenance: no tissue or paper towel in washroom.
  At the end, we are precharged with 15% grantuity, which we think they are totally not worthy enough for it.
  In sum, I will not come back , plus not recommended to anyone. And finally, this restaurant deserves ZERO star given there is no choice of 0 star before submitting this review.
