  It was years ago . But I was a young man fresh off a fly in fishing charter and wanted to treat myself. Not only was a greater with open arms but felt comfortable and welcomed in this beautiful establishment . The food was remerkable never have I seen food played and cooked with in such ways. Staff alert, friendly,knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you for an amazing experience

  The service was awesome; my wife has severe allergies, and they were happy to modify the preset tasting menu for her.
  
  It's not a place I would go to often, but absolutely worth doing once. Highly recommend the tasting menus. If you're going out to a fancy meal, you may as well go all out.

  West is a stunning fine dining restaurant along South Granville and it is one of my favourites to splurge at. The food is amazing and the service is spectacular and most importantly, their desserts are BOMB! I literally splurge on the desserts and have gone solely for the dessert in the past. And the desserts rotate with what is in season like Rhubarb tart with vanilla panna cotta (whihc was HEAVENLY) during spring!

  My favourite fine dining restaurant in Vancouver. I first visited as a tourist to the city over 10 years ago. Now I live here I try to return once or twice a year. The menu always had a west coast flavour, but prepared and presented in classic formal style. They have excellent cocktail list too. But what sets this restaurant head and shoulders above other fine dining places in Vancouver is the quality of their staff and the service they provide. That's why I return year after year.

  Excellent food and wine pairings in a slightly dated space.
  
  My wife and I had the tasting menus - Land and Sea - and each course was excellent, a thoughtful mix of flavours, perfectly and a few surprises that make you realize how much effort goes in behind the scenes to make these delights. The wines were matched perfectly to the courses too. I came away perfectly full - but if you want a giant steak, go elsewhere!
  
  All the staff were knowledgable and friendly.
  
  We took our time over our meal, and the staff moved us to accommodate a large group later in the evening, which was handled very well, but the space we moved to was quite cold, some diners had even put their jackets on, which seemed like a strange thing not to notice, but they sorted that out immediately too - maybe no-one else thought to ask.
  
  Overall it was an excellent experience and I'd absolutely recommend it for a romantic meal.
